After Wham the Pet Shop Boys are likely to be the most successful British duo of all time until today.
Smooth, cynical, intelligent and melancholic - just very British has always been the hallmark of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe today.
On her maybe best album "ACTUALLY" from 1987 they are almost all gathered their finest and most successful hits. With text content such as: "I am clever, you're looking good, let's make a lot of money", they corresponded exactly to the zeitgeist of the late 80s. The Pet Shop Boys made after all these become superstars bands like Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet British pop back to a cause of the people. After today Tennant and Lowe are considered the pioneers of the then called Euro-beat musical style of ran through the entire 80s. Hits were played in suburban nightclubs up and down and also in front of shopping centers and pedestrian areas hardly halted. True to the motto one knows one of her hits, you know them all. All their hits are two-dimensional products that reflect what you think ("It's a sin") in post-AIDS era, or what distinguishes the love of a holding company ("Rent").
