With "The Reason" published Roc-A-Fella rapper Beanie Sigel in 2001 his second album and make it so that even his Wahsinnsdebüt "The Truth" (2000) to beat. Not for nothing Beanie was traded to the years 2000 and 2001 as the hottest rapper Philadeplhias. Even if the lyrics do not really blown away by stool and not come over the constant posturing Proll addition, its flow and the beats produced largely by Just Blaze a treat for the ears. Moreover Beanie is that manage the usual Ghetto Stories credibly convey one of the few rappers. Especially this fact underscored once more the statement about "Philly's Hottest Thing". With features like Kurupt, Freeway, Jay-Z, Daz Dillinger, Rell, Memphis Bleek and Young Chris Beanie is definitely an above average rap album succeeded. This is especially the opening track "Nothing Like It" one of the reasons that "The Reason" one of the best Roc-A-Fella's releases ever. The track stands out due to the dramatic strings. But the highlight with a Soul-Sample "Watch Your Bitches" is one of the many hot tracks on the album. Actually, you can say that pretty much every track is a bomb and not a single really bad. "Mom Praying" is actually a cool track although not quite suits me the Scarface feature due to his whiny voice. "Gangsta, Gangsta (feat. Kurupt)", however, the Gangsta track par excellence. Together with the Dogg Pound gangsta Kurupt succeeded Beanie Sigel a fat track in the 70s garb. Groove Pur! "Tales Of A Hustler" and "It's A Man's World" are unfortunately somewhat weaker tracks for which I also use an asterisk costs with my vote. While "Tales Of A Hustler" all in all too boring for me, the cover version of the Percy Sledge classic in some places not at all convincing and not necessarily fit into the overall picture of this disc. But nevertheless Beanie succeeded here a great album and as I said, highly recommended.
