I'm a big fan of musical newcomers. Today, singers have to present something special, so that they are respected - hence the new releases are often very imaginative and exciting.
Eliza Doolittle has struck me several months ago through their incisive voice. And as luck would have it, I noticed recently released their first album "Eliza Doolittle" in their hands.

Caveat: An imaginative and innovative album will not be presented to the inclined listener. You invent the wheel of pop music is not new, but also kupfert not from, but defines itself. Her songs are supported in most cases by their interesting voice, without which the album would have perished. The lyrics are very funny in places and listening fun.
In addition to the typical and anything but reprehensible Einheitspop are on their debut album but musically sophisticated pieces such as "A Smokey Room". Here makes listening from the first note of joy. Even ballads she breathes for us into the microphone and warbles of the transience of love. Nice.

When Eliza Doolittle sings as in "Nobody," she reminded me very much of the "good" Kate Nash who was able to convince on their debut album "Made of Bricks" yet. Many songs on CD Eliza act similar - but why not? Kate Nash's album was a bit of a musical treasure for me and found by the critics as the best audience. Generally me the second half of the album has much more fun than the first, because they escaped here from the initial La-La-Pop and knows how to convince with unusual musical arrangements, such as in "pack up".

Eliza Doolittle is a good debut album that hopefully leads to another CD is produced. To treat it would be because potential is absolutely present and her voice has really pulled totally under the spell.
