The currently (23.07.14) offered 8200 battery in the aluminum design is sold on this product page only since July 2014. Many reviews Former relate to completely different devices, such as a battery or a 15.600er 8400 battery with LED flashlight. The older reviews I personally would be in my purchase decision in any case left out, because the different batteries are not readily comparable.

My following review refers exclusively to the mobile EasyAcc battery with 8200mAh capacity in aluminum design with a 2.1A output and with one and that's so special about this PowerBank 2.0A charging option (Input)! To this end, more on this below.

Origin / purpose:

The unit comes from the Fa. EasyAcc headquartered in Hong Kong. It serves as a handy battery backup and can be used on the road for charging smartphones, tablets, etc., when time is no outlet within reach.

Delivery / packaging:

After the visually appealing packaging opened one comes first exemplary on a really detailed and illustrated instruction manual in German and English! In a transparent plastic insert (not would have on environmental grounds, other manufacturers use cardboard) then the least 215g heavy battery (dimensions approx 12.6 x 6.3 cm) and 2 Micro-USB cable (20cm and 60cm). This USB cable can be used both as a connection to the power source (AC adapter, laptop) for battery charging and also for charging the terminal. Although the cables do not have a very high-quality impression, I use such cables from the same manufacturer, however, for months (were also other EasyAcc batteries included), they work far all yet.

Function / loading devices:

The unit is meticulously crafted, does not last through the aluminum enclosure a very sophisticated look and is functioning properly. The indicate the battery level via four small white LEDs, which is sufficient for practical use and looks also happen to be good. How many times you can use the battery depends on the capacity of the built-in charged battery terminal. The capacity of 8200 mAh is enough for about 2-3 times charging current smartphones. After that the battery needs to power source again. With tablets you come quickly to its limits. My new Galaxy Tab S for example, has installed a 7900 battery, then that's enough just so for 1x charging. The charging current is max. 2.1A, so therefore sufficient for current tablets. Nevertheless, of course, can also be terminals that (often 1A) need only a low charging current, as some smart phones or e-reader, charge with this battery-bank. Because the terminal (and not the charger) determined by how much current it draws, ultimately the strength of the charging current, so here normally no damage can occur. I write separately normally because I have already read in forums assume that batteries older phone models here sometimes cause problems, that is, they draw more power than them well does what turn or to shorten the lifetime of the terminal batteries may result in a premature reduction in capacity.

Charging the battery bank (now with 2A possible) - Attention: A battery charger is not included!

For charging the battery, you should allow yourself time, because this takes definitely several hours, but will vary depending on the strength of the charging current. An important quality and distinctive characteristic of the battery is with which charging current (Input) you may be charged. Many of the batteries on the market provide only 1 or 1.5A. EasyAcc has its new product happily donated a 2.0A input. This advantage is, however, only in the form of a shorter charging time (= time savings) noticeable when also has a correspondingly strong charger, power supply or the like. Such is not, however, from many vendors (including by EasyAcc) offered here at Amazon. Only with a mind. 2A charger are given realistic 4.5 to 5 h charging time. Of course you can the battery alternatively via a USB power source (PC, laptop) or a (weaker) charging plug load (eg with only 1A), which then takes much longer but, especially in older USB 2.0 ports.

Conclusion / Review / alternative:

In our household are currently five such mobile batteries as it were in continuous use. We use it mainly where there is a power source and problematic, for example, on long car rides (USB cable to the car charger plugs are usually too short), on trips, multi-day festival, on public transport or simply if you have ever forgotten, before charging the corresponding device overnight. Convenient really go and not because it is present to my past experience is a good quality and reliable battery, I forgive also like 5 star.
