After the anchor started with minor quirks such sudden jumps in random directions, needed a new mouse.
I have read a lot on the net and am finally stuck with this mouse.
This was among other things the reason that SteelSeries is highly praised in itself and is used by many professional players.
I (now) mainly CS: GO Games, I once stopped by the teams, as their equipment looks like.
SteelSeries is generally much represented, clear also because of the sponsorship, however, would professionals (often in prize money
depend) not use any mouse, making them ultimately ineffective.
The Rival has often been represented here, so I chose this. Now for the evaluation:
+ Positive +
+ Very chic desing. I like personally very well. The subtle lighting fit the mouse wheel and the illuminated logo
very good to the mouse. Rubberized exterior is also very chic.
+ Super wheel. There is something "harder" than many other mice, you have to try it yourself. I do not like wheels that are easy due.
+ No unnecessary frills. I see here now with my previous mouse - the anchor. The page had 3 keys
DPI Switch and two other key top / below the wheel. I do so or so only mouse wheel, left and right mouse buttons and DPI switch.
That is perhaps for MMO players interesting with several buttons, I like it that at the Rival (other than the usual) are just two side buttons.
+ Precision. Jeez, something I'm not used to. If a new round starts, I sometimes move around often
jerky left and right, because it's just as comfortable with this mouse. The sensor is something super of.
I can see the mouse on the screen really controlled pixel by pixel move when I want.
In my previous mouse, it was not so. Here, the control has always been "vague", but still you got used to it.
+ Pleasant weight. I do not like minor mice, which is right here.
+ It wobbles nothing! Taking the mouse shakes, you realize it's all processed securely.
The anchor was really annoying at every rapid movement. The side buttons were as hard as a nail in the soft rubber.
+ (SEE UPDATE !!!) Very good grip on the sides. They are studded small, serve their purpose. Even with exciting matches,
if you start sweating, you will not slip.
° ° Neutral
° rubber cable. I find the stoffbemantelten pleasant because the stay not so easy to hang any objects.
° No configure when illuminated gradient. This is now totally irrelevant to the mouse itself, but I would have found it more beautiful,
if I can choose, how the light rotates on the wheel and the logo. One can only choose between 4 presets,
but they do not suit me so. So remains only with static light pulsing for me.
-Negativ-
-The Software. (SEE UPDATE !!!) You have to download the SteelSeries Engine, which is however not in itself a problem. Must See today
yes many, or almost all, configurable mice.
But what have allowed there, which I find really rubbish. For me it was as follows:
Downloaded, installed, configured to test and application closed.
I wanted to change the DPI then, click on the Software aaaaand - NOTHING.
Do not open. Restart, click on the software - nothing.
Okay, can happen reinstalled. Works afterwards. Adjusted again, closed tested.
Again, I wanted to change the DPI (was nunmal a mouse changes, you get used to certain things, so fine tuning is required)
Click on the Software uuuuuuuuund - nothing. Okay, googled, apparently a lot of people have different problems with the software.
While browsing, I even discovered that there were people whose mice were brick your by an error of the Engine Firmware Update.
This was answered directly by the support that we should direct to [...] contact.
That did not happen with me luckily.
My problem I can fix only by a trick. The icon appears in the toolbar, but not open.
It's just, if I wait for a few minutes and then right-click maximize the window, so not quite the intention.
So in summary: Mouse top notch, software fürn A ****, but I do like to convince them otherwise by updates. If questions, I answer them gladly.
UPDATE 05/22/2015
Now, after just over a 3/4 year I want to leave an update for future prospects here.
The software now works properly. Absolute please do not watch any more problems, so this point as currently. I let him still inside, so that one sometimes sees that the developers make an effort. However, another point,
which previously was positive, now regarded as negative:
The rubber sides. I never used the mouse very intense and can classify me as casual gamers, nevertheless from the knobs a smooth, worn surface become, relatively early after purchase.
That's why I prefer the mouse from a star, she had originally 5. The surface should definitely revise, because there is the reclining position of the thumb and it falls again and again into consciousness.
I play constantly unintentionally rum in the resulting curvature, which promotes forcibly additional wear out.
This however does not occur with the mouse buttons, even though they are gummed. It is solely on the knobs. Photo follows!
