I have tested the Polaris Palm Beats (PPB) in parallel with the Polaris V8.
Also the PPB I have used as a Bluetooth speaker for mobile phones, as speaker for PC (BT and Cable) and as a sound box for an older TV / DVB-T receiver. Especially with the latter, I have found no faults in contrast to Polaris V8.
The Bluetooth HFP function I have not tried yet.
Very briefly: Super 'Super' Super !!!
The device has a CLASS sound in every application. Even by itself, so just hung on the handlebars (with the supplied carabiner) or placed on the table a real asset !!!
What at first looks like a gadget turns out to be blast! You can even bring out a bit more about resonance (eg old speaker). But what is there is very good !!
Installation or coupling with Bluetooth done Polaris typical problems. A connection via 3.5mm jack can only be done via the included indigenous micro USB to 3.5mm Male connector. Unlike the Polaris V8 you can not simultaneously charge and connect so. That may interfere with one or the other. Not me. The charging cable is also and is a normal microUSB.
A microSD card can be used without any problems. Allow the available controls, as opposed to a veritable MP3 player just a back and forth jump to. Even something that you can tolerate well.
The hose-proof to IP35 makes the PPB to a prima shower 'radio' (Attention there is no FM receiver is installed. Fall into the water should the unit, but submerge again in the tub has it with me without problems survive (no warranty !).
Very handy, I also found the silicone / rubber ring on the bottom of the unit. The reliably prevents the PPB simply slips off the table. The LED in waterproof (see above) sealed compartment for USB port and Micro SD slot shows functions such as loading, SD mode etc. in white and blue on (more colors he has not shown me).
The included carabiner is a bit 'uncool' because quite small and light, in short, a little underpowered. But since everyone can live his taste.
For professionals like a sound setting on the device or via software missing. I have not missed it. It was just flatly well !!
All in all a recommendable device flatly that his money's worth in any case !!!
