Some of the negative reviews come because of an unusually bad for Amazon and false description. Here are two models of the type to be confused. The video refers to the other model and the transmitter transmits on 433 but NOT 868th
There are two of TFA Wave radio thermometer. This one (product number end number 01) with black housing, the Simple, WITHOUT clock and no possibility of connecting additional transmitters. There is also one with a silver housing and the product number with last digit 54 the then these features allegedly contains. (If in doubt: see website TFA)
Since I bought the device for a friend abroad (different time zone), I have specifically looked for a without radio clock and because there are few alternatives, certainly no more expensive (better?).
Given the partially lousy reviews and before I send the unit on a world tour I've tested it with me. While the test was only a few hours, but it has so far everything is working properly.
Station was erected in the garden about 30m from the receiver in the house. Almost direct line of sight, a ledge and a closed aluminum / plastic window in between. Since the transmitter initially had room temperature (about 20 degrees), it took about 30 minutes to the outside temperature (about 3 degrees) was correct, but I do not value as a defect.
There were no disturbances Duch a second radio thermometer with 868Mhz.
The display is very easy to read - large and bright.
Whether the temperature values now are accurate or not is hard to say. Identical to a second device, the values do not, the site was also not. The difference, however, was plausible in the context of acceptable and values. You should already be aware that this is an article under 20. The intended not suitable to perform accurate measurements. Who wants that should then have been looking in the area beyond 100. I can live with such deviations by a maximum of 1 degree, more it will probably not be.
