I ran the heater as a 200W version in a small open 180l rearing ponds for angelfish!
The room temperature is with me around the 20-23 ° C and therefore the heater should really no big problems have to keep the water temperature constant at 27 ° C. Unfortunately that is not in the least the case!
Aligned it is against the current of a Eheim 2073 external filter and so far never came a LF error message.
However, the display lit solid blue, that the water was never warmed to the desired value and was always cold. Tentatively I above the value increases on the controller by 2-3 ° C, ie 30 ° C, yet the temperature remained constant at 25 ° C !!! Whether it is a defect in the heater or how does it work in closed aquariums I can not judge because I run only open aquariums.
Then I would have been on time far too low for my Scalar 25 ° C, I simply bought a Eheim Jäger with 150W and am more than satisfied with the result! The temperature is kept extremely constant and so far I had not a single variation, measured with 2 fixed temperature knives and 1 temperature sensor.
The advantage the Fluval heater was Kunstoffummantelung so the fish can not be burned, the same protection (round tube made of plastic self-made) but I have now on my Eheim.
Conclusion: Personally, I have my 1st Fluval product very disappointed and the price it is not worth it all!
