What I like:
- This kit has a very good price / quality ratio: I could mount the two softbox and feet without breaking anything :-)
- The lighting is quite powerful (1450 lux measured at 1 m by softbox) and color "daylight" correct. My video enclosures are set at ISO 200 opening 2.8.
- The light is diffuse enough for video. Yet it can be improved by placing tracing paper underneath.
What I liked least:
- Flickering: no problem with the open D7100 2.8. For more problematic against my old D90: strobing large aperture (1.8 to 4.0). Well, it was to be expected with pipes rather than halogen bulbs. But these lights consume significantly less!
- The height of the feet: beware, adjusted to the maximum height, they become quite unstable. Check that the clamps are properly positioned so that the tubes do not fail. Position the feet to compensate for the weight of the softbox depending on its orientation (no cons-weight)
I recommend this product for use connoisseur :-) but watch out for the sensitivity of your camera to fluorescent tubes.
