Accompanied during training and competition has me since very early times the Garmin FR305. Unfortunately, the first battery was after exactly 3 years since it was faulty and not wechelbar, the clock has been completely replaced by an equal model. As well as at the 2nd FR305 after 3 years of battery showed first misfire, it had to be something else. So came the next model of the Polar RCX5 into the house. Super functionality, but compared to a device + chest strap suddenly nor an external GPS to and a clock with battery instead of battery that screams every 8-10 weeks after battery replacement - Help! The chest harness during long runs even scrubbed it quickly became clear that I will not grow old with this clock. Especially Polar with the policy of "Data-Hiding" does not come far with me. I waive my online portals to evaluate data and use this program that I can use on my Mac offline and manage the data locally, so I can always and everywhere access if I feel like it. Unfortunately, there is little Polar ways to export the data easily to other treatments, and the GPS data are to height data "circumcised" (you want to still be able to offer more expensive models for it).
In May I was my daughter alerted to the Tomtom Multisport cardio and I have ordered the same day. Only one device, rechargeable, everything inside, everything ... what more do you need?
The first test runs were inspiring. No chest strap disturbs and scrubs, no 3 parts that you have to check on battery and charged battery. For this, a simple operation and you can fully concentrate the sport.
I have to admit I'm not the one written for the manuals, but I try to gadgets intuitive to operate and use. It was only when I missed one or two radio tonality, I have the Online Manuals accepted and found that you can adjust some but I had so not yet discovered.
Next, I noticed that - as described here quite a few times - the heart rate was indeed measured very accurately (I have the beginning compared with some runs parallel with Polar) that it suddenly also repeatedly misfires when determining the HF came. In the graph the signal was then (usually with me around the 160) continued with a constant frequency until the end of the activity. At first, I ordered this a wrong wearing until I irgendwan encountered by chance in Tomtom Forum on posts for this behavior. There was then evidence of a Tomtom employee, they should contact in such a case Tomtom. Affected individuals reported that their clock was replaced and since then functioned also the RF identification problems.
So I went off on the hotline, made again the desired actions from there with reset, installation of new software and another test with the same result that the RF measurement after 60 minutes ended in a straight, horizontal line. After transmission of the results to me a return label has been delivered and the clock went to the Tomtom service. A week later I received news that a new clock was on his way to me and the next day I was able to make my first run with the Austauschuhr. Since then I have completed several hundred kilometers with the new clock, and not had a dropout with it. It was obviously a hardware problem with some of the first watch, and I can recommend to contact in this behavior Tomtom each owner only.
For all the love to the benefits of the clock, there are also criticisms of me: the software can and needs to be improved significantly. So I have no detailed information during the run, when I chose laps or intervals. It is indispensable for me then for example, information on current information about the average speed of the current lap / interval. Likewise, after the index listing of the Rounds / stages / intervals with the associated information for each unit I lack.
The partly addressed "weaknesses" in swimming, I can state that with me the track counting works very reliably. Thrilled me the sport introduced by the penultimate update "Freestyle", which I now also outdoors can record my swimming activities very well. To my surprise, this even works RF measurement and GPS. At last there was a deviation of Triathlon
I've trained more than 1200km with the clock since the end of May and am still thrilled. The criticisms I have of the usability and software functionality are mostly concerning the list of new features / Troubleshooting Tomtom and the activity there. Development prevails, I am confident that this will be implemented in the foreseeable future.
In summary, I want to list the following points that inspire me at the clock or disturb.
