Unfortunately, I am not one of those who were allowed to "test" the unit. NO - I have the beginning of April 2012 bought this board because it fits very well with our Philips steam generator iron as it vorwies enough space for it. That's the only advantage.
Because iron after about 20 minutes forms under the reference / the grid a pool of water that slowly but surely on the floor dripping underneath. Unfortunately we fell the first time not so on, so that the laminate flooring is something come up at one point by the permanent irrigation. So we must, if we iron (and we have a lot to iron), including put a runner or a large towel !!! And at the price.
I have made a mistake: I have then moved into the ironing board on the Philips online shop itself because it was around 10 euros more expensive to that time at Amazon.com! A mistake, because the "outstanding customer service" with which Philips advertises on its website itself is neither outstanding nor customer-friendly. After I spent first 15 minutes to a queue, the call center agent told me rather rudely that I should please call the support but nice. This lady was then already nice, they made a note of everything and promised to take care of this problem ..... it was Oct 2012 .... until now (12:11:12) I have neither the lady nor the support gifted by Philips itself an answer, despite inquiry a few days ago.
Had I bought at Amazon itself, I think, would long since the issue off the table.
I can only advise you to stay away from this overpriced board if you have a steam generator iron! For a normal iron it should be enough, but then asks why so an expensive board needs, which is specially applied for use with a steam generator iron .....
As so often with Philips .... beautiful illusion and nothing behind it .... with other devices (coffee) have also done so my experience. A PITY
Addendum on 11/12/2012: What stands in the article description? "XL-iron base -. Perfect with pressurized steam ironing systems Stable XL iron rest was designed precisely for steam ironing systems The shelf is also heat-resistant and can therefore be easily used for all steam iron.."
Meanwhile formed after five minutes iron already mentioned above puddle. By Philips has yet offered me no solution. But the lady of the hotline told me that I should pray tell do not iron with steam ... very thoughtfully with a board that is specially touted for a steam ironing system ......
So if not ironed with steam, which will perhaps be satisfied with this board from Philips! I'm just wondering, which one should then iron ..... does anyone have an idea?
