The connection is easy with the included setup CD or directly in the router menu the device is also easy.
The firmware was with me 1:00 and only English-language menu. I could make no update on the router itself, because he thought give none. But was on the home then but the v1.02 to find. Update is but easy. Just upload file, rest is the device itself. I think that but then also not as spectacular. I have no problem with the English, but should change to the simple but can.
No matter, set up and used. But after a few hours I noticed the following Macke on:
it just always lost the wireless network. I had to restart the router and then it went again. But that did even just a two hours. Switching off is through the corresponding switch in the power cord fairly easy, but it is annoying anyway.
According to the Internet, some of these devices have this problem simply because you can not do anything. Annoying anyway, especially if you do not know it at the beginning and so pretty desperate, because you have already tried everything.
The DLink support but has responded to my request quickly, unfortunately, brought the relevant information (channel change, etc) nothing. I have now sent in the unit and will receive a replacement device.
This is quick and good support, which I would have naturally wished only to obtain the replacement unit and then return your defective router. Then I would do without Internet. Well, the main thing it works then really.
Well, what I like the router in addition to the device, is the design, plain white and with an assembly frame / hanging devices, so you can place it somewhere clever. In addition, the technical basic data in this class are okay. Gigabit LAN and WLAN - N (150 Mbit, 1 power) are important to me and then also work as far.
What bothered me very much is this unspeakable LED flashing. There is a blue tone and so bright that almost the whole room is illuminated. Now of course you can set the router somewhere hinterwas, but then the transmission power goes down.
Overposting is probably somehow (probably several layers), then the optics is in the bucket. I personally find it hard to understand why these devices to all sorts of things to adjust (the router's menu is easy for me slaying extensively), but can not issue the LED.
Well, that might be seen differently. I for one prefer for flash LED and the problems described from two points.
I just want to point out that if you change the router (I get so new) must be the cable modem off (black box with me) and let off probably a little so that the modem forgets the connected router. It remembers namely the device and can only be one of them operate simultaneously. Turning off is lifted and then you can then normally connect the new router.
