Data transmission is moderate. When you make a call (by an extra VLAN) interrupts the data transmission of 100 Mbit on a 30MBit. With earlier models, the DSL connection telephoning the download was not even possible because total choppy. So Fritz boxes seem to have a big problem with the prioritization. Lt. Provider statements, it is located on the schwachbürstigen Fritzbox because the telephony overloaded the processor out very strong. What indeed is at G711 codec very well understandable, because this actually causes about 0:08 to 0:12 Mbit traffic and I have a 100Mbit download.
The breaks dramatically with the phone call.
In WLAN a channel in the automatic channel selection oddly always taken where several other neighboring WLANs are already active, although still other free channels.
DHCP does take problems: Clients do not get IP or it takes eweig or you have to restart the client again or often get different IP (yes I know the tick, anyway). The problems with the DHCP run through all Fritz box products that I had in use. That made me to move all my equipment on static IPs to upgrade (have 20 devices in the network).
The DECT integration is very good, although with Siemens phones lost a piece of comfort is (for example: when a caller on AB speaking can not hear paralell and rangehen spontaneously, yes, it is very cumbersome to with any hot keys that can be time when the phone frantically looking anyway not use their head). Here I get from my wife over and over again to hear me to connect it to the base station again SIEMENS.
Very practical and functional are:
+ AB calls can also listen via a browser on the notebook.
+ Phonebook (gone are the days where you have the required number in the other phone stored)
+ Seamless integration of Internet telephony (that has always impressed me)
Push Service has problems with in-house mail servers (in the previous models was the still).
Laudable WLAN is also on 2 frequencies: 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
The repeater of the same home can not do that!
If I had the choice (the router is prescribed to me by the provider) I would like to look around for alternative. The router gives me so little an impression of a toy with a great GUI (yes, really succeeded).
Yes, the focus here was certainly the average consumer has no more than 5 network devices off. Everything should be simple, just at the expense of functionality.
AVM also learns and tries to leave the problems on the ground, which can be recognized, that in the GUI in some places has an opportunity to provide feedback and to describe errors.
I think that's laudable, but rather late, many problems are all known for years and were fobbed off by AVM Support. Well, I can also imagine that many ordinary petrol not remember some things or mistakes then Windows or otherwise ascribe whom me.
I will not criticize all the functions that they are there, but:
- Why do I need an alarm clock in the router have?
- Why it is important to know (with a surprisingly elaborate graphic representation) in which Timeslot my DECT phone sends (DECT Monitor)?
Instead, I would like: DHCP and reliable performanteres network.
