Important for me was:
- Battery life is not less than 2 days
- Dual Sim card slot
- Not too big and too heavy
- Android from 4.1
The implementation of the important points for me gets 5 stars - BUT: my main phone (Galaxy S4) has since I Acer Z3 own (now 5 weeks) already received 2 firmware update that Acer still none. As of June 2014 (ie 6 months after purchase): there is still no update.
The mobile phone was primarily intended to weekends to be accessible via a landline number to ring the same time on my PBX system. As a second SIM my Hauptsim comes from the S4 is used.
NEGATIVE:
But quite small and difficult to use the keyboard on the 3.5 "display -
- Camera quality is worse than the Galaxy S Duos
- Date (5 weeks of operation) no firmware updates
- Sometimes the machine hangs when writing WhatsApp or SMS - andd as though very few apps have been installed (just 3 - WhatsApp, PBXs App and Sophos Security)
- Battery indicator wrong and irritating, see below (supplement dated 07/12/2013)
NEUTRAL:
- Restart take longer than Galaxy S Duos
- Display resolution is sharp, but sometimes, unfortunately, but too low
- Memory Card hits take some time
- The WLAN is still acceptable, but already much better than the S4!
POSITIVE:
- Faster app start
- Upgradeable memory (32 GB running smoothly)
- Dual Sim function integrates flawlessly
- Good sound quality for MP3 playback, long term. Suggests many MP3 player!
- Deitlich less useless than Samsung Apps
Conclusion:
I would buy the mobile as mobile 2. anytime. As a main phone me the display would be too small.
Addendum of 12/07/2013
unfortunately it is not at all with the battery indicator. The phone keeps a long time, after 3-4 days it is still a residue of 34% of battery. These 34% are for under 8 hours then empty, even if the phone is idle next to a. 2/3 of the battery thus hold almost 4 days and the final third only a few hours.
Once I felt the move already made, there was amazement. Tonight it was at 34% at 1 - and at 9 this morning it was already out.
Big downside is that it can be switched on immediately when it depends on the power supply, but only when the battery has little power again.
Addendum of 12/11/2013 because battery life:
I have a cell phone at 7:12. fully charged and disconnected from the charger evening, so it has now held by exactly 4 days and was not empty. BUT - it was at 19:45 clock at 32% - up (now is 21:56 clock) beeped and it still reported 15%. Thus seems as thought by me to confirm that the alleged final third of the battery is extremely fast yet. I did not want to wait until it is now at 0% and all emanates.
Thus, just the 4 star something in danger, because of the 4 days of battery life but I prefer to not even starting. In my eyes are the 3.5 star, so close to the border.
Conclusion for now one year (29.12.2014)
The phone has got a single firmware update, so it still runs the Android 4.2.2. Meanwhile, the mobile phone has lost quite a bit of speed, the latest version of the Facebook app can not open partially. A pity that Acer does not provide updates. Also the battery life in the meantime, has decreased significantly, it keeps Alike now 25-35% shorter (not 3 days more!). Thus now but my last Acer phone and now the 4th star away. Even a reset to factory settings and reinstallation of the important apps accelerate not the phone. Next, I give a 100EUR China Mobile a chance.
