Now to my spontaneous impulse buying and the recession of the Rustler RS 800. This was before Easter in the Amazon Lightning Deals for about 260. I have looked at the ratings and directly ordered. I am very demanding and if something bothers me build, I will send it back right away. So far so good. Delivery time 5 days later, unfortunately not in the morning, as discussed, but in the afternoon. Was not a problem, the freight forwarder had come forward and asked whether this will work. Package came to About 15 clock and I have made myself directly to build.
I was very surprised by the quality. I was expecting a rickety frame that is completely warped (see other recessions). But it was not so. Only when installing the rear cover (base), I had to apply some force, so that the screws can be put on at all. But that's been unproblematic. The stability of the grill makes a good impression (clear, is not a Weber grill, but also costs much less !!). Instructions, etc. all complete and easy to understand screws.
Now the interesting part, the grill capabilities :-).
Immediately after the construction I have connected the gas bottle and wanted to start the grill. The ignition does not convince me so much. You should here about 5 to 8 times the control dial on the grill use (clacks every time >> ignition) to the grill then ignites. If you know it, no problem.
The grill has 4 burners and a side burner. These all have a very good performance. Within 10 minutes the grill has (we had about 5 ° C outside temperature) 350 ° C, after a further 5 to 8min nearly 400 ° C. I think that the barbecue in summer, with pleasant outdoor temperatures here within 10 to 12min is over 400 ° C. Hereby I am fully satisfied!
Each gas grill has "warmer" and "colder" areas, which you have to find out, so you can grill evenly. In my model, the temperature (ie rotary direction) is lower front and I grill steaks, etc. for a great pattern and good roasted aromas rather in the back of the grill. Already have several things grilled and all are successful! Have the grill now for about 1 month in use and have been grilled at least 15 times. He's really good. Whether various steaks from cattle (hip, Tommahawk, Entrecote, ...) or pork (fillet, back), fish (tuna, salmon, octopus), various sausages or vegetables (This I grill well, then put it in a casserole dish, which is located on the holding grid of the grill, then I start to Fleich. The grill is really big enough !!). Everything works fine. Also have already made spaghetti grilled (recipe from the SWR3 barbecue) or dessert! :-).
The only drawback at the BBQ, so there's only 4 star, is purely visual way. The silver lid turns easily and the color comes from. For the functionality insignificant, but the optics suffers. Otherwise, the barbecue could get full 5 stars.
A "fast" matching hood there is also on Amazon. This is intended for the Rustler RS810, but also fits great on the RS800!
I would recommend this barbecue without restriction.
Any questions I can be happy to answer in the comments!
