Have been thinking long whether I should I buy this lens, as the portrait photography has not previously counted to my area. As I slowly found it of interest and has no longer been enough my 24-105mm standard zoom in portrait area due to the excessive depth of field, so I needed a pure portrait lens. I flirted with the 50mm 1.4 and this same here. The choice is now fallen to the 85mm because I liked it better the image quality, the feel and the processing as the 50mm lens. Since I work with full frame, the 85mm are ideal and portrait, it very much. What I find positive is the low weight, so that I can separate my flash from the camera (Canon External Camera Shoe Cord OC-E3) in order to keep him in one hand and camera in the other hand. If I had my Canon EF 70-200mm 1: 2.8 L IS II USM lens (77mm filter thread) in his hand, it would be impossible for me to shoot so long though that's actually my favorite lens. The 85mm is ideal for long shoots where I flash not disconnect cable with long TTL, but hold it in your hand and if the court does not allow the 70-200mm. Also, it is due to the low price ideal as a starter lens for aspiring portrait photographer.
I do not want to miss this lens and speak a strong buy recommendation for the price of.
