The plan is to use this light bulb as a replacement for my classic was - just precisely because this no ugly plastic ring should have amended. A closer look at the size detail then also revealed that the Osram 57W bulbs have a length of 73mm, the LED bulb but 105mm, so good 2cm longer.
Positive was, after all, the produced light. Brightness and color have lived up to expectations.
