After I had "cold shut" perceived as very appealing, I was curious to see what would come next. All the greater is now my irritation. The new album can connect with hardly a song high in the predecessor. Apart from two pieces offer The Boxer Rebellion here a very shallow pop fare that is me personally too sweetly. Absolute low (and agonizing trigger point) of the album is "New York", a song so uninspired that you do not want to believe that something like this can find its way onto an album. In contrast to "cold shut" working on "Promises" with far greater sound carpets. In all frequencies something to take place. But my impression is that the band so that one of its great strengths even deprived, namely phonetic Ausdifferenziertheit and restrained arrangement to let them speak the feelings.
