What works well:
Flotter File Server for Windows and Linux PC
What works reasonably:
File Server for Android (using ES File Explorer), the Buffalo-APP is with me a total letdown, is not the LS210.
What does not work: The LinkStation does not go into standby when not addressed, such a function is not provided in the settings.
The hard disk is not switched off when last file access before
WakeOnLan - when the LS was treated with a timer in standby.
What Buffalo promises:
Supported protocols SMB / CIFS, FTP, HTTP / HTTPS, AFP - So I was hoping to install static "intranet pages" on my network and be able to call on all devices. It is possible that I do not find the correct settings for it, but then the "User's Guide" (big word for scarce) so bad that I do not understand them. Would not be unusual also possible and for this manufacturer if the function is eventually submitted.
Untested: Backup function - I'll do better with software I trust.
Access via Internet.
Conclusion:
For me opposite a hard disk that is connected via USB to the Fritz box no additional benefit.
EDIT:
No firmware update on contemporary radio ions such as WakeOnLan. Shutdown via software etc. I'm really upset about the firmware. Even if the other function still OK (access via Android) or straight is still acceptable: Absolutely no purchase recommendation.
