UPDATE 1:
After 4 weeks of intensive use as "Game Machine" I have a clear result ... absolutely EMPFEHLEMSWERT !!! The ACER VN7 works like a Swiss watch. No problems with the hardware.
Furthermore, I, Who cares swapped the original thermal paste to the Gelid Solutions extreme. This is available here at Amazon.com and has the best results in different tests. BUT ATTENTION !!! who it has before ... please let only experienced electronics technician ran orE confidence !!! This is very very expensive. But it is worth it. My temperature had before the exchange at full load the CPU at about 84-87 degrees. The GPU was at full load about 75-77 degrees. Actually ok ... but so much cooler the better. AND here we go !!! 79 degrees and the GPU max - After replacing and under full load, the CPU now has 76. 71 degrees. TOP values !!! And it shows on the air this is felt less warm ...

The background:
Unfortunately, I am a person who always newest of the new and fastest must have ... but in a compact format. I like Game ... I admit. I work too much ... freuts my boss. I have to switch off. But just so ... gamble until the battery smokes. Since more than a two hours a day are not in it ... otherwise I'm due ... I just tell WOMAN ... well this goes too far ...
So ... Looking for a new notebook (the old man's death has provided) that has the best combination of price performance and speed I had chosen two favorites.
The Decision:
The ACER V Nitro and the MSi GS70 Stealth PRO So these were the chosen ones. The MSI was my 1st choice because compact, well, a lot of speed and a nice appearance rounded off my selection criteria. This was offset to end only 1800 Euros in the way. Well ... I thought, quality has its ... well, but I was wrong. I probably got a Monday device or the standard of MSi. It was loud as a vacuum cleaner so that it even drowned out the game tones !!! There was constant wireless abrüche !!! Squeaky keyboard and the battery held in Eniergisparmodus barely two hours. Programs had disappeared suddenly and the unit began to launch itself again without warning !!! OK ... Without any further comment, I have the sch ... SS Cond ... te failed ... so a ROTZ ... crap ... features ... t ... gönnd ish bleede Wern ... q !!! q @ !!! ... So ... I then sent back. But since I was still in search of a powerful mobile solution and a satisfactory price performance ratio I looked around further.
It was just the time of the Gamescom and in the course of the event, I watched some videos on among others a film by ACER V Nitro. It was like a revelation: A device similar to MSi, Game Suitable for similar facilities and the price of just 1400 Euros have convinced me to try it. Looked, did ... Since a short time later some online outwitted dealer I ordered ... Difference 400 euros and hardly hardware loss ...
The Arrival:
The equipment has been delivered to me on 09/05/2014. And people ... when I unwrapped it, I had very amazed !!! The feel of the device is overwhelming. A different feeling than aluminum or plastic ...
The outer shell feels very soft, a little riffelig as it has a micro structure. If you fold it gummed on the display frame and the frame of the keyboard and the palm rest. Everything feels very high quality. The screen is an IPS display with very very high viewing angles and a very bright one at that ...
The entire frame with screen and lid are very rigid, and stable. The hinges do not springs and stop exactly where you want. Also the lower part of the device is built very solid and does not spring a in pressure. The keyboard by SteelSeries (a great brand in the gaming world) and has a red backlight. The switches off in battery mode after a few seconds even. The pressure points of the individual keys are very well chosen and give a good feedback.
At the hardware you do not need too many words lose a Core i7 processor with 4 cores 4710HQ 16GB DDR3 RAM and a 2GB DDR5 memory with GTX860m speak for themselves !!! ... I can find drawbacks to my real first choice on this unit NO. Oh yeah ... the vacuum cleaner effect. The ACER V Nitro incidentally in the BLACK EDITION ... is whisper quiet, even at full load !!! I can not hear anything contrary to MSi GS70 ... AND ... at the same height and of similar dimensions is even a Blu-ray LW available.
The Acer V Nitro comes with 256GB SSD and a 1TB M.2 large HDD therefore as a mass storage. The SSD provides after deducting all necessary and "unnecessary" programs installed a free space of about 180GB. In the 256GB variant of the Acer V Series Nitro is the recovery partition from the SSD. This can be deleted once you have created a recovery flash drive and you get about 16GB more space. In the 128GB version with 1TB HDD recovery partition is however available on the HDD.
The only downer in the Nitro series ... I have no way of discovering the HDD or SSD to replace, if the place should be tight times. ... But I'll have to find out;)
What remains:
Current games like Battlefield 4, CoD GHOSTS or WATCH DOGS play it without problems. The latter game with tiny restrictions. But that does NVIDIA with the GeForce Eperience software solution. Quiet ... Schick ... and presentable. The battery life is at optimized energy settings at least 4 hours ... I already five hours act. WiFi and Blutooth managed. However, it takes a few charging cycles can be achieved through these values. The screen brightness turned all the way down I in battery mode. This is still sufficient to detect all good order.
The conclusion:
I have the ACER V Nitro with 17 "- bought 256GB SSD and Blu-Ray burner in the Black Edition This means the fully equipped and I must say I am delighted not only because ACER as a major success is the - 16GB RAM.. has no equal but also because it MSi is equal if not superior to the GS70. If not in the technology but then in the design ...
Therefore ... and not only because playing the question: "How much money can I save at the end of a major role !!! ..." Because the MSI GS70 which I here with the Acer V Nitro comparisons does have a slightly better GPU but the 5 frames which are calculated more no 400 Euro worth more.
