Roine Stolt has succeeded with this album, to sit between all chairs. And that's good! To put it quite right to say: I love this album! I love it because it's so different, because it is their own, comfortable, retracted listening habits into question and thus quite provoked misunderstandings. Neither served it the usual bombastic prog clichés, nor is it a typical retro blues album. It is something completely new and original, a post-modern rock kaleidoscope whose elements are constantly changing, which vibrates and oscillates, by the guitar but as it were "grounded" is. Sure, the music takes its starting point in the heroes of the late sixties, inspired by Hendrix, Cream, especially Zappa, but not trying to revive this specific sound authentic (that would be boring!), But quickly goes its own way. Wall Street Voodoo is quite bulky and used to - and might therefore initially left helplessness of many listeners. Roine Stolts notorious haters will find confirmed and maul the album; but also his "fans" will only have to learn to deal with this concentrated dose of slanted psycho-blues. This music has no "target group", but is entirely for themselves as they want to be conquered, makes the listeners the compliment that it concedes nothing to him, served no expectations, only obeys its own dynamics, its own internal logic. One must learn to listen imgrunde quite new to hear this album properly. Could describe it perhaps as rough one: Bluesy Guitar Jams of all shades and varieties, embedded in edgy-rugged, psychedelic, slightly angeproggte song structures. Not for the musical quickie in between, no Lauer "new art rock", no drinkable balm for the stressed-out soul, but music which calls for the arrival and upsets the usual clichés breaks, short, you probably can either love or hate. Who does not the "quickie" examines the musical acceleration from naught to sixty in 2 seconds, but if you bring the time and the will to carry on to flow of this album will be richly rewarded in the end. One last picture: So much of what is today lauded and praised particularly in the field of progressive music, is basically nothing more than well-kept musical turf, a nice sound-garden, where it is pleasant to live. Against Roine Stolts music musical veteran, sprawl, jungle and adventure.
