This novel Maxime Chattam puzzles me. It was announced to us as an esoteric thriller making us travel in Paris in 1900. To visit Paris, not bad, for against for esoteric thriller that is much less! The book has about 450 pages. During the first 300 pages, the story is set up and there is far too much for my taste lengths. Then history is accelerating, but we do not understand where the author wants to lead us to reach a final falling like a hair in the soup and that is, in my opinion, very disappointing. However, I am a fan of Chattam but this time it does not make me shudder.
