Qualities and defects of the G300 Black Edition

This is my first radar detector, I appreciate its integrated battery, it is recharged at home like a cell phone and used as a portable phone. Its all black design is nice. He does more than phone box in plastic that can be seen elsewhere.
Its installation and update has been easy and is well explained (I am still on windows XP). Vista I do not know. The updating of the database (European) can be daily or every 2 days, or longer (5-8 days). This is according to new locations. When I go into a little known place I always do an update of the database for the latest locations.

The sound quality is correct and adjustable, one vote to choose a woman or man, long or short messages.
The database is complete to my eyes, more relevant than that of a conventional GPS. The G300 is a dedicated product, it only mentions radar locations (fixed) and those possible (controls binoculars, standing, mobile, or airborne radar) and the frequency of settlements (1 or more times a week, 1 or more times per month or 1 or more times a year).
Being a dedicated product, it does well. That's her business, it does not scatter.

The baterrie only guaranteed 3 months ??? and some lots have been weaknesses. I would see the use, I've had 3 days.

The car holder is a magnetic pad to fix the G300, and adhesive to attach to the dashboard, so immovable. This gives an indication to thieves to possible presence of the device in the cockpit, even if one has the equipment with you.
I personally do not use it, I have a non-slip pad to put on the dashboard on which I place my G300. I remove the assembly after use.
At night the indications of its domed screen is reflected in the windshield.
I have a Megane 2 with parebtrise athermal, I have no reception problems. I do not use external antenna. Wheelchair, positioned behind the windscreen, the G300 provides 2 minutes maximum for picking 4 or 5 geostationary satellites and be operational.
In the open air from place to place and time (light) I capture up to 10 satellites without antenna, sometimes in less than a minute.
Last point is important, I bought this 122 euros, on this site on 28.09.08.
