First the positives:
- The processing is absolutely high quality and the camera takes a stable and sophisticated look.
- The ability to manually can influence aperture and shutter speed, has pleased me very much.
- Record Setting "bracketing" (but only up to a maximum of +/- 1) is a nice feature.
- Beautiful display (but somehow a bit noisy).
There are also the two stars.
Now for the downsides. I had my doubts, a mini camera with 14 MP to buy, as there are physical limits eventually. However, since the sensor has been enlarged, I allowed myself a it. Compared to any digicam that I had been obsessed with taking pictures cut from mieserabel Medium Strong noise in all areas (at 100% view) and terribly bad details - and even at ISO 100 !!
Then I shot a friend direct comparison photos with the much cheaper Sony W130. Besides the fact that this camera is processed very cheap and they can only come up with an 8 MP sensor, the images were better, to my great dismay in all areas. The color reproduction of the W300 was somehow pale and the images, perhaps much more blurred because of 14 MP.
Conclusion: I can not recommend, even though it is otherwise processed so pretty the camera because of the bad image properties (and to which I feel, after all), unfortunately. I will now probably even try my luck with a Panasonic, especially as these are almost all equipped with wide-angle and have fewer megapixels. In manual features you can probably dispense with such a mini anyway, since it anyway mostly only 3 stops to choose from. If that does not help then, I go probably back to Canon. Maybe then but an (expensive) Ixus because unfortunately I did not like the new A-models.
Kopliment the end to the great Amazon service, which the camera has withdrawn completely without objection and refunded the amount on the same day.
