The EasyPix scanner is - up to the required micro-SD card - ready delivered. It is positive that the scanner is detected as a digital camera to the PC as a removable disk. So a driver does not have to be installed. Ideal for mobile use: The PC must stay at home with sufficiently large memory card and an adequate battery supply. His small size compared to the flatbed scanner and the lack of a sensitive glass are pluses for mobile use. The scan results are lying with a plan A4 sheet surprisingly good. If the scanner is done clumsily, distortions in the scanned image (banana-shaped scan) may arise. On unevenness (a poppy grain enough) under the template, the scanner is sensitive because it rests directly on the sheet to be scanned. Even curved sides (eg scanning from a bound book) are difficult to scan. Most A4-books are bound on the long side. This creates the Easy-Pix not because he can not lie flat. It remains only cross to scan for submission. But then the A4 page is not reported in full. Disturbing is that the scanner is wider than the actual scan width on both sides, so that he at magazines has problems with stitching needles. Negative also that the scanner can not be selectively operated on the USB cable. Batteries are required. Positive is the light-emitting diode, the "unsuccessful scan" displays. Unfortunately, these are not deleted automatically - there is no button for manual deletion, so that garbage creeps in a series of otherwise successful scans that must be found again until afterwards and deleted on PC. A clear key would be helpful here. Conclusion: A fast, simple, highly portable and remarkably good workhorse for manual scanning of A4 pages on level ground. Ideal for traveling. Only partially suitable for all other purposes.
