I am a Mario Party newcomer and know the old parts of the series not - but unfortunately have to say that here really much depends on luck and you in the various mini-games virtually never alone because of the skill (memory, speed etc.) wins. On the board outside the mini-games there are just too many factors that depend purely on luck, so you will quickly thrown times even after only one train from first to last place. Here some more balancing would have done well determined.
Nevertheless, the title makes in the group, of course a lot of fun, as a single-player game Mario Party is only moderately entertaining. The amiibo features I personally can not say anything - I collect the figures, but they are not used (they just leave in the original packaging). Overall, an average of entertaining games for a nice evening with friends, but the one can in my opinion have just as well, for example, with Mario Kart 8.
