First of all, yes, the smell parts when unpacking and beyond anything else to what-it-is-always-. But that's no different when I myself pranks, so I see no reason to star deduction. The smell fades quite quickly, at least if the cabins are outside.
The construction of the first hut was literally a no-brainer, I mean my two Lütten (8 and 5) have mastered almost single-handedly. I finally mounted the roof - with a phase tester as the only tool (because I have the Kreuzbits for our screwdriver not found ^^). So no thing and it's not a cordless screwdriver notwenig, as I have read somewhere.
All parts fit together perfectly, everything was pre-drilled to attach the roof via plug-in system and subsequent gland problem free.
The finish - the Aufklappsperre and the two hooks which are to be kept closed, the roof - but was then rather depressing. Sorry but this Aufklappsperre is as suggested by the manufacturer for my understanding of the laws of nature, not applicable. I tried it with official markings as well as with various modifications thereof, but the physics remained stubborn and did not let himself be persuaded to make an exception for this thing.
The hooks and eyes, which should close the roof fixed, I immediately eliminated because they are to be mounted vertically according to plan. What should a hanging hook probably align seriously?
Cottage number two then had a "surprise" for me ready (not quite, because by reading the reviews I was forewarned :)). The roof was the way it was delivered, not to be attached to the cottage. The "rear wall board" (technical terms are not my friends;)) was in the wrong direction on the hinges, where the roof was fixed, screwed. In itself not a problem to eliminate the maladministration, but annoying, because the notches in the wood it had to be expanded and at this point then lack the protective Glazing. Can I refinish course, but I have not in vain ordered the all-round carefree package. Build itself would of course have been possible. ; P
That being said, it is been possible without problem to cope with all work well on their own (My children were no longer motivated by the construction of cottage No. 1). So you have to not wait for the assembly necessarily on Ehegespons, the WG-partner or anybody else.
In general:
The cabins itself to serve as guinea pigs 11 rain and wind protection within a fixed spout and in addition to an enclosure inside of a shed with us. But they are also well suited, in my view, although probably still a third hut must be found. For 11 pigs, two of these huts are a bit tight. A thunderstorm has already survived the cabins, although they are inside gets wet on the roof a little. So you're only almost rainproof. ;) Since the interior, however, very heat up when exposed to sunlight, they get anyway nor ever donated a pitched roof, so that this problem is likely to be thus resolved the same.
The urine bowl is indeed removed, but so shallow that the person has no value for me. I sprinkle a normal (for me about 5 cm), then the shell is stuck as well as a built-in floor.
Among the pages between urine cup and wall still a long bare unprotected wood to the ground. This is a pig urine mess if I do not nacharbeite that.
Unfortunately, there is under the urine bowl no additional floor. However, since the shell is very thin, a massive floor must at least be upgraded for winter yet.
The wood itself I really like. It is from the price of corresponding quality, which one unfortunately can not always claim.
The ramp is steep, short and without cross-sticks or other stop providing coating. My Spring pig is the not care, but who wants quartered older animals, there must rework certain circumstances. I'll probably dismantle the part entirely and just put a stone as a stage in front of the entrance. For rabbits, for the hut's at and thought for themselves, the ramp is probably superfluous anyway.
The entrance can be closed by the ramp, which is a good idea, but something has to be in good pfriemelig interspersed hut. As our cabins are always open to me is not important, but who speculated on being able to close the hut, which will want to know that. I also the closure appears to be quite shaky. To withstand the onslaught of an outbreak funny piglet, I doubt it.
Conclusion: Actually quite nice, the cottage, but ultimately rather a suggestion you can build yourself. ; P The third hut I'll probably set yet, simply because everything is all of a piece, but if the three then give up their mind, I'm building for the next time the same himself.
