Why is?
Jay, Tom and Derek are in the old smugglers' tunnels below Point Whitmark go because they want to find out why rats are so aggressive lately and even try to pass through the old secret door in the lighthouse. By chance, they come out here on the outskirts of the Points Whitmark, on the estate of the wealthy Solomon Resul, who has steered through faith in a geheimisvolles oracles supposedly an ancient curse on himself. Everywhere on the estate can find desert sand. What does it mean?
When I read the blurb, I was very happy because I thought it will be finally determined once again more in Point Whitmark and you meet once again on familiar characters. After all, the smuggling tunnels were already in some episodes theme and I like it when motives are resumed. Unfortunately, it was not so - could have embarrassed the scene in any city, the "Point Whitmark Feeling" came not to somehow. I could honestly the Handlungsort not really imagine (especially the estate) well, that's never happened to me in the previous episodes. The atmosphere was true somehow not in this episode and the story seemed partly something far-fetched. However, a few nice scenes yet were there, there was no room for boredom and the resolution was somewhat abstruse (for me anyway) but surprising.
Unfortunately, I do not like the character development of the three boys for several episodes. Somehow they seem to me partly no more than if they were really friends.
[Caution from here Spoiler result]
For example, Tom is back in the tunnels at the crazed rats because the trapdoor no longer rises, but instead of the Jay and Derek try him out of there, or to call him on his cell phone, they run only once for hours on the estate around and seem Tom to have completely forgotten until he shows up even later.
The Friends disassemble sometimes just half the estate and are in a blackout in the Points Whitmark debt - and what do they do? Just fuck off and make his escape, although they have thus caused a huge damage to property! This is something that I would Jay, Tom and Derek for example never have expected and does not suit you. After all, they had to help clean up later ...
[Spoiler end]
Derek sometimes when he put in a mid-life crisis and is actually all the time find fault only on and complain behaves. Tom, who almost always was a very bright head has partially an incredibly long line and Jay, who has otherwise determined always inquisitive and curious, sometimes seems as everything he did not care. I lacked a bit of humor this time, and even the usual running gag with Jays Glasses or its typical proverb could no longer tear.
What me for several episodes also extremely noticeable and I find it very unfortunate that lack of constant terms which recurring characters. Is Sherif Baxter retired? Father Callahan died? Have Kathy and Sera restaurant closed and moved away? Lives Mrs. Bushland yet become the lighthouse and what is from Wayne Hancock, its toad or Billy Boy? Do not misunderstand, I like it when new characters are introduced, but then they should not hesitate to stay that way. I thought it was beautiful once Jay's and Derek's mother or even know his grandpa, but they should then at least once again be mentioned in a subordinate clause or occur in the further consequences. Somehow many people suffer in Point Whitmark universe under the "Boris Blocksberg syndrome" and often disappear without a sound again, which I think is very unfortunate.
Although this has now listened to a lot of criticism, I still like Point Whitmark but still very. It's simply bleating at a high level and I will remain faithful to the series definitely because it makes really still fun and a total failure was not here yet so far for me. Only I found just this episode again is a good example of what one might in the future could direct the focus more; Figures from either the serial write out (even if only in a subordinate clause) or to incorporate them again more in the adventures of the boys, then the consequences may also act again a little rounder. I'm still of the opinion that in Point Whitmark is still a lot more potential that has not yet been truly exploited. From the radio theme, which comes also a little too short, you could do so much more. I hope for improvement in the next episodes! :)
Final note: Just so yet 2.5 stars
