Southern rock is not particularly popular in the dominated by thumping techno beats and massive synthpop sounds present at the majority of music listeners, and the rerelease of the best albums of the genre is therefore not just cause mass hysteria, despite its excellent musical quality. Unlike bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackfoot Raging Slab were beyond only a few people ever known in Germany. Consequently - sadly - mainly insiders heart beat faster when you need to purchase this CD is no longer expensive rarities at merchants or on record fairs. Raging Slab throw on the album published for the first time in 1989 relaxed a good dose, explosive mix of Heavy Metal, Hard Rock and Blues in the South-mixer, and the result is energiesprühender, rousing guitar rock. The band retains a sense of the merits unfussy, straightforward song structures despite attention to musical detail and creative density. Using partly aggressive-driving, sometimes casually powerful guitar riffs, song-oriented solos, tasty slide guitar fills and catchy choruses are songs like "Joyride", "Do not dog me" and "sorry's all I got" the addiction factor for the ears , The fact that most of the pieces rather short (. Nearly 3 to 3 1/2 minutes) have failed, did anything but sad because not lose Raging Slab in guitar orgies or endlessly repeated closing choruses but concentrate on the essentials: Straight played down-to-earth rock 'n' roll, the desire for more power and no second bored. The only truly quiet tones sound with the ballad "Love comes loose". A positive feature is especially the ear-friendly, likable-rough voice of the singer Greg Strzempka who entirely dispensed languishing or otherwise embarrassing acting Gesangsduseleien and thus makes the entire panel for hassle-free listening pleasure. "Raging Slab" is a work that is not vying with Mitgrölrefrains or soft flushing keyboards for the favor of the audience. It embodies over long distances what is sorely lacking in many discs in this field of music: rock musical essence and the essentials concentrated simplicity that convey the fun and passion of a band that deserves this country a much larger audience - if not today , then at least 1989, when rock was not anachronistic. These guys play what they feel. Conclusion: Raging Slab is a CD which has to offer far more than just a good song. It is worthwhile to discover this disc. Rein Hoeren highly recommended !!
