Although for a "domestic" use this tool to be oversized, it still makes interesting services as I have seen in testing it for my personal use before giving it to a family member who will use it in a frame professional.
1. Before using this printer one may wonder why it could be more advantageous than the labels on an A4 sheet that is printed with a laser printer.
The first advantage is the ease of use for the labels being aligned on a roll we are not faced with the problem of positioning on a leaf. For example, with an A4 sheet labels that have already been used, you just print the remaining slots, so that this problem does not arise with this printer.
The second advantage is the cost of consumables. One might think a priori that thermal paper (which produces the ink itself) is more expensive than plain paper, but it was not, at first, not necessarily the case if you choose a provider that does Dymo is not. As an example to renew 89x36 labels (reference 99012) supplied with the camera I find, on the Amazon website, as 520 labels it takes 21 euros, or 4 cents per tag if you choose Dymo as a supplier. But if one chooses Seiko (always on this site Amazon) it takes 27 euros to 2,600 labels (10 rolls) or 1 percent by tag: 4 times cheaper! And the price is even lower if we choose larger amounts.
To compare with the price of a board A4 I have not found, always on this site, labels have exactly the same dimensions, but slightly larger labels: 105x37. Labels for 1600 prices are 10 to 40 euros (including shipping) is 0.6 to 2.5 cents per label. But the first price corresponds to the paper 70g / m2, which is really late. The second prize is 1 cent per label or the same order of magnitude as for Seiko label.
Anyway we must also consider the fact that this printer does not consume toner, increasing, for a laser printer, the cost of about 0.1 to 0.2 cents per label if you count 50 euros toner for 1500 sheets.
2. Use.
I believe that we must first load the CD-ROM "DYMO Label Software" because it contains, under "Help" instructions for use of the software and the printer. For the printer the user manual is more detailed than the booklet "Quick Start Guide" and provides insight on how to install the label roll.
V.8 The software is easy to use for work ... simple. I was able to print address labels and identification labels folders (and jam jars) without having to consult the user manual, with, each time, fonts and different character sizes .
But I'm not yet launched into more complex work such as importing images or creating barcodes which I did not use.
Finally, I appreciate the small footprint of the printer, which is probably an advantage for a job in the workplace.
