I have read that the second novel and read neither the first nor the following of this reactionary trilogy, with a heroine like "virgin ingenue" and love a macho John Wayne that fine on her innocent touch. One thinks back at least a century back! ignoring women's emancipation ... even the love scenes are "controlled by the master" and the heroine is passive..a old fashion ... and all scenes follow the same pattern. It is a type of pure Romanesque style puritanical US and hallucinating, thinking that everyone pulls these novels. Where will we ??? The machismo still has a bright future. There are other novels, some written by women, who are more deserving of the title erotic novel.
