This novel is certainly well below Misérables and Notre Dame de Paris because the plot is much simpler and style sometimes a bit heavy. But it is one of the few novels devoted to the Revolution (The gods only soifme comes to mind). Nice to read. As for the professor's comments Leulliot could do without because they are primarily aimed at spreading science editor. (Many commentators complain of notes of a certain Miss Wulf, I take it as often with amazon comments from one edition drain into those on another edition.)
