realistic RTS

With joy I have seen that Men of War now comes out even in Germany. I have the English version for a few months and can therefore judge the game already times. The import version has already on Amazon, getting very good reviews. I include myself in full.

Game:

The game requires a good strategist, but because the game requires a lot of micromanagement and is very realistic. You can enter different commands eg when an infantry unit, each individual soldier. For example, say exactly where he should stand. Thus, for example, the unit scatter a bit to come up with a hit to lose the entire unit immediately in shelling. The game is very in depth, so you choose the type of ammunition (armor-piercing or explosive) with guns. Infantry can from other units weapons and ammunition book (eg you can save incl. Ammunition from a broken tank nor the MG, or of another fallen soldier whether enemy or friend). In some missions you have that too, because that's the only way to get guns. This is also ensured that not every soldier with each weapon can deal equally well, correspondingly decreased or increased the hit rate. Broken cars / guns can be repaired to some degree again. It is also possible once enemy vehicles repair and equip with a crew, which I find very nice.
The damage model is very realistic, so it is (almost) impossible to damage a heavy tank from the front with a slight gun. You might have a chance if you close ranfährt (if you survive that) or surprised him and fires at him from the side. Each unit has a certain field of view that is of course very limited in tanks. A simple Flammer launcher (also normal infantry has possibilities) can destroy the greatest tank. So just press ahead with the heavy tanks (such:. B In Company of Heroes) never forget. Unless you want him dispose :-). Of course you can also lay mines (anti-tank or anti-personnel). I can not here go into all the details, but in my opinion is one of the most realistic MoW strategy game.
But one thing I want to mention. The Direct Control mode. This allows one unit (whether armored or infantry) to directly control the arrow keys and the mouse to aim. Of course you can choose the appropriate weapon (eg hand grenade at the main infantry or artillery with armor-piercing ammunition and then switch on the machine gun). Units:

You can choose between Soviet, British, American and German troops (Japanese are to follow).
In the infantry, there are numerous possibilities. From single Kämper via officer (very good to retain the overview) and a number of infantry troops (Sniper, flamethrowers, simple infantry, elite infantry etc.) are present. These numerous tanks and armored carriages come (Tiger, Panther, IS1-3, T34 Sherman, Panzer I-IV to just name a few) and artillery (mortars, mobile and fixed artillery, rocket launchers, etc.) and self-propelled guns (hunting tiger, ISU 152 etc.). Single Player:

The game currently offers three campaigns. These are very varied (single combat to major assault) and also quite heavy. But there is the possibility of the missions with others to play cooperatively. It then divides the units. Can concentrate better and be denied of course.

Multiplayer:

Here is my opinion on the focus of the game. The 'audience' is very international. The game was developed in Russia, where it has a large fan base appear. Even Chinese players I've often discovered. As mentioned at the beginning, it is already available for several months in other countries. One should expect that you start out pretty nasty Losing is that people just have a lot of practice :-) But that is over time, so do not lose heart. There are different modes with different goals. For example, the battle will be fought and where simply collected points until the time runs out. In other modes Area points to be taken and the longer you hold the more points you get. Virtually every mode is beschränt time, so there are no endless battles. Resources are limited and this will gradually free. So you can not call a heavy tank on the field, special needs 'collect' until you can select the resource points. If the resources are gone, you can call no more units into the field.

Graphics / Sound:

The graphics are not superb but still contemporary. With Company of Heroes in DirectX 10 mode, it can not keep up but surely. The environment is fully destructible. The sound is decent, but the spokesman in the missions are not very good, but you can get over.

Conclusion:

MoW is in my opinion one of the best strategy game, with high standards. Extremely realistic. Ideal for example for those who would like to have Company of Heroes but still play a degree of realism.
