I for several years Powerline adapters use already ("network via the household power supply") from Devolo. This Multituner here I bought to have even in rooms satellite reception, where really is only one outlet.
The principle is very simple - the reception of the satellite transmitter takes this multi-tuner here. It can feed up to two programs at the same time the home network. Requested this be of the devices at the other end of the network.
What do you need? In addition to this SAT-IP Multituner first a SAT-IP-enabled TV. Happened the whole over the power lines of the house, so even comes a "Powerline" adapter added in all the rooms where the network and thus also satellite IP should be available. As I later in our house equipped over the years many rooms with such adapters Devolo, network and thus also made satellite IP-capable, were after purchasing the multi tuner dLAN TV Sat before all conditions.
The multi-tuner I attached under the roof directly to the 8-way multi-switch of the satellite system. Since this is a receiver that can receive two programs and feed into the network at the same time, both coaxial connections are required. The supplied simple power cord that plugs into the wall outlet in the attic, the signaling takes place in the powerline network. (Note: The network connection, which can be seen in the product picture, here only suggests the need for an additional powerline adapter and is probably intended also to make possible the feed location SAT IP TV.)
The multi-tuner can now be integrated in two different ways in the local Powerline network. For the first by pressing the encryption keys on each multi-tuner housing and then on Powerlinadapter at destination. That reminds me that means too much Herumgehaste (first key in the attic press, then climb down into the floor with the powerline adapter), I prefer the second option - namely the so-called "Devolo dLAN Cockpit". This is a program for the computer, by means of which I display all available network Powerline adapter and can create new adapter / devices.
For this purpose must be listed before the Security code ("Security ID") of the male adapter. This consists of several four-digit groups of numbers / letters and is printed on the rear panel.
In the case of multi-tuner dLAN TV Sat installation was as usual simple:
Connect multi-tuner in the attic means power cord into the wall outlet -
- Start on the PC connected to the network program "dLAN Cockpit". Going down to the right on "Add", enter "Security ID" - wait - that's it. Shortly thereafter, the new device is inserted in the overview and can be configured as needed by clicking on the icon with the gear.
- Is the SAT-IP-enabled TVs connected to the network, so the reception of satellite programs in this way is immediately available from.
The only complaint from my side: The available via the "dLAN Cockpit" Status Overview "Tuner Status" confused here, if the television receiver is not turned on because of the "Tuner Status" remains gray. Only when switching on a receiver, the display of the two tuner boxes on switches "Transponder active". The first has me despair and seemingly least be looking after a mistake half an hour which was not actually there for. So dear Devolo people, in the operating manual advises and protects the nerves of your customers!
Oh yes - the playback quality of HD and UHD self-transmitters ("ASTRA UHD Demo Channel") works flawlessly.
All in all, therefore, five Amazon stars from me.
