Out of curiosity, what you can do from a Navi today, I ordered the Eco Route HD adapter. I run it on a Garmin nĂ¼vi 1390 LMC (pimped! TPRo 1390) Hardware: not necessarily handy, but thoughtfully. No rough edges, everything flattened and rounded nicely. This should hardly injury exist, as anyway. Only the right exit of the cable on the plug proposes very negative impact. The cable from the interface pops out far. Here a rotating angle plug would have been better. Installation: Completed in two minutes. Put the plug in, start the engine, wait until the LED light is blue, turn Navi, activate Bluetooth, finished. Unfortunately, there is an indication that you should insert the plug only with the ignition off. Otherwise, the adapter can be destroyed. The mounting of the adapter and the supplied tools I can not judge, because in my car a little shelf under the OBD II interface is where I stowed the adapter. Luck must have one. Software: Very good. 5 selectable displays in circular speedometer with digital display style. What is to be displayed can be selected via finger pressure to the specific instrument. In my Mazda 5 I have for example the choice of tempo, speed, engine load, ignition timing, intake manifold pressure, throttle position, coolant temperature, voltage and some amderes. Here are my current vehicle fuel consumption is not price. That was actually the reason of purchase. But based on the engine load and the old traditional calculations of fuel consumption can it calculate thereabouts. But here is the "error" at the vehicle manufacturer, not with Garmin. According to Garmin support I contacted before purchase, the Navi can view everything that the OBD II interface will bear. As for the promised trouble codes, I can not give any assessment. My car seems to be very healthy. Thank God. Conclusion: I think the adapter is far more than a "men's toys". By proper selection of the display you can still get a very good insight into sseine driving. Since the adapter each function also records and they can be read afterwards, the benefits increased enormously. But I have not yet tried. If times make a mistake noticeable and are displayed, one can point out a moment later his workshop. All in all, a very successful accessory that I can only recommend
Addendum: I enddeckt that the Navi but now shows the current fuel consumption. It makes sense is not selectable on the Eco Route page, but may be selected lower left of the Navigation window. Where do the calculations come, but I can not say exactly. Whether they are radioed directly from the OBD II interface, or will be calculated from the inputted average consumption, I can not say exact. After the engine off, I can now see how much fuel and money cost me the route. There is the highest rating of 5 stars
