Design (3.5 / 5):
Quite a lot of plastic, but the base is made of black glass which I personally like good. The frame is made of plastic, but looks like as if it were made of metal. The device is roughly 3cm thin, it's for my taste quite decent.
Equipment (4.5 / 5):
There are (unfortunately not a pure HDMI but only various adapters) and included 4 glasses 4 cable. You can order from Toshiba free more glasses. 2 USB inputs, 4 HDMI inputs, Optical output, Lan input are sufficient for household use. Furthermore, the device has built-in satellite, cable and DVB-T tuner.
Processing (3/5):
There are quite a few gaps in the frame, especially at the corners. But only notice when you look closely. For expensive equipment certainly better.
Ergonomics (3.5 / 5):
Matt display is definitely highly recommended (Panel is probably of LG). The viewing angle from the side is not so great, because the picture is then much matter. Myself have no aberration (neither clouding nor flashlights nor anything else). Remote control with the metal slide I personally find ok, but just need the top. Can understand why some people find it not so great. Cables are routed to the side / bottom, because someone has thought along time if you want to hang the TV on the wall. HDMI CEC / REGZA functioning properly.
2D image (4/5):
Am very satisfied. I can not understand where the lack of black level is reprimanded the tests. In the Factory settings is black for me anyway black and not dark gray. Colors are relatively crisp in the default settings. If you car has set brightness, fall on a random variations in brightness. The picture is good even with rapid movements in football you only with very fast rallies a relatively light drag on the ball. PAL images from digital sources are represented well, really well, it will be skipped during playback of HD sources. In conjunction with a Toshiba BD X3200 also watching good DVDs is a treat, as they are partly extrapolated very impressive.
3D image (4.5 / 5):
A real highlight and, depending on the business material very impressive. Have deliberately opted for the passive technique, because I get headaches from Shutter. The lower resolution which has the Polfiltertechnik, I find it not at approximately 3 meters distance. In general, the 3D technology is for all devices still quite capable of improvement, but the prior art here, the Toshiba solution is pretty good.
Sound (2/5):
Quite modest, no depth or Bass. For the nightly news but reichts.
Internet Features / Media Player (3/5):
There should be as about 15-20 applications that are more or less useful. Besides the obligatory Youtube access, I find the video on demand offerings and Aupeo quite nice. Once Toshiba Places is loaded times (about 10 seconds), the applications will work quite fast; In any case much faster than at Philips. A few more applications would certainly not hurt.
The media player plays MKVs via USB in principle from, but has occasional problems with the sound. The media player of Toshiba BD-X3200 BluRay player is there in any case much better. Occasionally crash both Toshiba Places, or Media Player, or see any content. Since then helps only a reboot. Certainly room for improvement.
Rating 4 stars. The good image, the absence of artifacts, the good quality and the low price (got my TV bundled with BD-X3200 for about 650) make the few flaws more than offset. I would again buy the TV.
