The quality of this floating tripod makes the somewhat long delivery time to Austria almost forgot! Unpacked from his pocket, metal parts exempt from some oil and started balancing. CD-Rom was with me the way any case, but I would not have anyway used. After initial difficulties, one gets a feeling relatively quickly, which weights and settings for use Equipment fit.
In my case a Canon EOS 600D with the 18-55mm kit lens (or EF 50mm fixed focal length) and a Rode Video Mic Rycote top. All together has thus a still quite pleasant weight, even after a long recording time it is not too heavy. Many more or heavier lenses should not be taken, perhaps, but you expect that?
For processing: Amazing what material quality is about the money (about EUR 100, - excl, Stand 05/2014.) Gets. The matt black aluminum looks high and stable, the screws and quick-release fasteners and hold, and can easily be reached, the bearing glides flawlessly and around, the handle has not yet meanwhile no problems and is slip resistant. But one can, if necessary, replace it with something better pretty easy.
Only negatives:
- The whole system tends to readily turn to the left - can also be my inability - can hammer out, however.
- The handle hinge can, when worn, if careless, quite times squeeze the finger. Dear shoulders! ;-)
- Battery can only switch (on the EOS 600D) when unscrewing the plate. Would be due to design and difficult to solve otherwise.
Among the recordings: Except for small stuttering at recording start and end (could be solved with a remote control) are possible with a little practice very soft and liquid trips. Super also that one can tripod (rubber feet goodness) just off times and use almost as a normal table tripod. Cloudy, with similar example of a (more expensive) Glidecam is it maybe a little bit better, but for "Semi-Pro" projects that's enough in my opinion, completely out! All in all, really a top tripod for the money!
If it in the future what should change, I submit to yet!
