Roald Dahl is a wonderful children's author. Matilda is a nugget, but what a work of Dahl is not one? (...) Once started this book, your child will not want to leave and ask the next chapter emphatically. Each chapter is funny without downtime. Each character is quaint, fun. At home, the battle between Matilda and her relatives appalling is hilarious. At school, the battle between students and the ignoble head teacher is worthy David and Goliath. An interesting point is the absence of vulgarity and profanity as it now seems fashionable to sprinkle works for children, presumably to seem modern. Roald Dahl proves once again that one can excite children with a quality text. Overall I can not recommend this book! It's risk free purchase that parents and children will laugh. The fact that the main character is a little girl excluded nothing to address it to a boy. What child does not dream of owning magical powers Matilda? Moreover, Matilda is stamped 9-12 years. If you read it-yourself aloud, it can be played well before 9 years. We tested with great success from 7 years. A book to be read and reread!
