Movie buff, I turned my DVD library and video library for that I tested several brands of recordable DVDs. This type SONY DVD seems more reliable over time and especially when the registered subject is compressed (LP or EP): the same movies 1 or 2 years later are still watchable. This is not the case with other brands or DVD type. By cons I have not a step back in time beyond 5 years, my DVD library is still young. In all cases, the XP screen (a recording time) and SP (2 hours of recording) are always preferred for the good preservation of films. With 2 hours, most movies can be recorded.
