The relatively low price I had no exaggerated expectations for the quality of the lens, but these were still disappointed. The recordings are simply not ready to focus properly and operate a total of muddy - with washed-out colors and contrasts. Even manual focus and different aperture settings, etc. do that much better. This is even for my rather modest claims with a 700D not good enough and is at odds with the many positive reviews here. So far, so my experience with the Canon 10-18mm STM correspond more to the test results of "chip", in which the objective only the penultimate place 8 is in a comparison, especially wg. "Low resolution". Possibly but is it also a Monday product or an unfavorable series dispersion. Therefore, I will exchange the lens and then update my review in accordance with, hopefully for the better ...
Update 03/02/2015: Because the test results of CHIP - unfortunately! -. Almost exactly match my personal experience with this lens and the large manufacturing dispersion general is known, I wanted to change the lens. However, the price has risen in the meantime significantly (from 234 to 279 euros) and therefore allowed AMAZON only a return to refund the purchase price (on the ground "The lens is currently not available", which actually was the case for 1-2 days). Too bad, I would have liked to let me convince you otherwise, but because I think the current market price of this plastic part coated (especially when compared with other STM lenses from Canon, for example, the 18-55 mmm), I can save myself the time being and Wonder continues to rave 5 star reviews ...
