I have the DEM 8.5 now excited for more than three weeks in continuous operation and bin. The device is mainly as a preventative measure against the formation of mold in my combined bedroom / hobby room where previously the relative humidity was about 65-70. Meanwhile this has leveled off at 50, which I have for myself as optimal. The unit is self-explanatory. Switching on and with the more one "turning up", the more runtime = more moisture in the air is removed. Since I anyway had a separate hygrometer, I do not mind the lack of display on the device itself. I turn mostly to 75% as measured by the full stop in order to get to the 50. At first I thought, making the part a noise, vibrating pretty, I then put it on a blank of a washing machine mat (you can get at the hardware store) and since then peace, the 38dB get there. Possibly I still try Sorbothane as a damper, but actually it was enough already that way. I have the part can practically go through the first two weeks and could prima falling and staying asleep there. So far, the device meets my expectations fully.
