Lincoln (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Those who know Lincoln's quaint, compositional brother War Horse (2012), notes immediately that this is the same creative mood, has interpreted with Williams two completely different actions in itself. What was the flute in Gefährten- soundtrack, here are predominantly bassoon and clarinet, which accompany flawless synergy a wonderfully nostalgic ode to the good in people. Truly humble occurs on Lincoln in fact, if you compare it with earlier works bombast to the Williams in cooperation with their makers Spielberg Hand docked. Quiet and sentimental swing restrained to cheerful woods duets with a discreet orchestra and prove that the old master is still master of his discipline. Personally, I see Lincoln as one of the most reputable and hörbarsten works that have ever been able Williams, although some phonetic kinship with War Horse can not continue to ignore. Darbietendes orchestra this time was not the LSO, with Williams has recorded many of his greatest masterpieces, but the Hollywood Bowl, whose soft, flattering overall sound the crux of this score are contrary properly.
Besides duets and patriotic sounding, orchestral trumpet solos embedded in this soundtrack is a great stylistic variety available, ranging from hearty march "Call to pattern" to the bustling southern bluegrass "Race to the House". The end forms an elegiac piano sonnet in which one of the many leitmotifs "With Malice toward none" is displayed for a dramatico conciliatory end. Overall, a beautiful proof that can arrange quiet and peaceful sounds for full orchestra and epic audibility in shape and that Williams has not lost its charm which he wrote in Spielberg's contract after all the great works.
