This story of the first thirty years of Winston Churchill is mostly devoted to military operations in the Malakand region of India (1897), in the country of Sudan (1898-1899) and the Boer War (1899-1902). Churchill also recounts his childhood, his education at Harrow and Sandhurst (it was always bottom of the class), his polo tournaments in India, and the beginning of his political life in 1904. He showed a lot of humor, modesty and sound common sense. He wrote this in 1930, fifty-six years, unaware that his finest hour is yet to come.
