Joke left his mark in the game with the EP Kyoto / Tokyo excellent craftsmanship and gives us in 2014 are first album "Ateyaba". It was very difficult to judge the work from the first listen as there are a lot of things auquelles our ears (of Hip-Hop listeners) are not used.
I will make the comparison of the work and the artist with several others:
- First comparison Asap Rocky: It is obvious to note the similarities between the two artists since both are very focus on the swag, their lyrics revolve around the same topic, their attitude is similar, the atmosphere and other purple codeine syrup cough also.
- Second comparison Kaaris: Rap In the end I see two artists of the "new wave" (so I do not count Booba) be extremely focused on the American style / Trap and these two artists are Kaaris and Joke. The difference is that Black Gold Kaaris is a charism of the dose where "Ateyaba" shows only too little.
- Third comparison with YG: American rapper arrived with an album west coast crazy but that reveals more the talents of DJ Mustard producing the rapper's talent (too little charismatic and technique). Well here is a little similar to the real revelation is Beats Richie who wrote monumental works.

To summarize, "Ateyaba" is a work (a true work) full of ambition, with a real atmosphere with a rapper who has his universe has nothing to him. But the missing star in my rating is due to the lack of charisma and sophistication in the flow of Joke. Otherwise the punchlines are present, the beats are impeccable, innovative and very heterogeneous, they quickly get a some refrain, short one to a real innovative fr rap album.
In an interview Joke said they record the album in two months (which is very short) and I think this speed to give way to a lack of structure and perspective on some pieces.

The pros:
- From "Pharaoh" to "Casino" (Track 1 to 12) plus "Ateyaba" and "Paris"
- Special mention to "Menace," "We are on the nerves", "Jen Selter," "New Jack City"

- The pieces not mentioned previously
- The french feat (except Dosseh) are not really top
