I use the adapter with a Transcend 8GB 133x CF disk in a Compaq Armada 1592DT as hard disk replacement. After the old IBM 3.2GB hard drive in my old Win95 laptop reported problems, I was looking for a solution to the old hard drive to replace - but the problem is that there are no IDE hard drives with only 8GB longer exists today. I need but for old programs a WIN95 computer with paraller interface. The adapter is the Transcend CF 8GB 133x disc easily recognized as a bootable disk. The Compaq Recovery CD put two 2GB partitions and install the Windows incl. All drivers and suspend partition. I had previously saved the data of the two partitions on the old hard drive via a PCMCIA CompactFlash Adapter to another CompactFlash. After that I just copied all data (incl. The Windows directories) back from the second CompactFlash on the hard drive replacement. Everything works, even all the desktop icons are in the same place. One complaint there but I had to cut the soldered into the circuit board pins of the 44pin plug connector with an electronic side cutter as these too far above the bottom of the adapter out were (higher than the contour of the old hard drive), so there were only 4 stars. Still, I'm very satisfied and would buy the adapter again.
