One can argue about the appearance in open luminaires. Everyone needs to make for yourself. I find it ok. For security reasons, I have isolated the lights on the back with adhesive tape against the metal reflector of the lamp.
In any case, the replacement is easier because minutes here does not have to be careful not to touch the bulb with your hand.
The light color is really very nice and warm.
Many warning light LED light is more even bluish.
This has a very nice shade of red.
Problems can occur when electronic transformers in low-voltage technology (12V).
Electronic transformers, usually recognized by an elongated plastic housing, a minimum load have that should be printed on the transformer (eg 20W to 140W).
Falls below this minimum you load, so can either start only the transformer to hum, the lamps flicker or blink.
Should this happen, so you can change the transformer or just leave a halogen bulb in the lamp.
Old coils / metal core transformers or toroidal transformers have a lower efficiency and therefore are not always the better choice.
