I bought the G Data Security for my laptop. The software was 2 weeks in use, then I did it again uninstalled and am now landed at Trend Micro. The reason I was not so satisfied with G-Data: The performance of the computer was noticeable in the basement, that is, the Windows boot time has more than doubled, and even surfing / browsing handling, delays have set. And the tip, simply shutting down one of the two engines in this case, I find not effective. After all, who says to me, then, whether the protection is given 100%? I think the guys from G-Data should rethink this setting again with the 2 separate engines. I will not have to decide whether I have to turn off an engine or should, but the performance should match by default. Actually, shame about the tool, because otherwise I found the interface and operation excellent. I would not rule out that this performance losses were so clearly only on my machine, but apparently if you look at other comments, I'm not making it the only well. As I said, in terms of detection of viruses / trojans, really a great product. There are like "System Volume Information" under Windows even scanned the contents of "normally locked" system folders, which for example does not work with the security of ESET with me. I would recommend every user to test G-Data Security only once a trial basis, and if the performance is right, then you can here certainly strike without hesitation.
