Having had this year to replace my "faithful" HL 2030 HL 2130 the same brand, I regret to see that Brother, like its competitors, seems to have opted for the procedure, somewhat dubious of selling very cheap printers to then catch up, shamelessly, on the price of consumables. Besides the fact that the process is rather crude, it will have caused me significant extra cost. Printing identical volumes, I went from quarterly dun toner buying [10,000 copies] 60 Monthly of a consumable that designed for 1,000 copies, and costing thirty of euros. A small calculation shows that the additional cost is around 50%. I think I'll have to reconsider my brand loyalty on my next purchase of replacement.
