Optics / quality / feel:
The Metabo is very, very robust construction. Ie many parts make a simply super-quality impression. But the cast metal housing still reminds me of my first drill from Bosch. Today yes means any company they could equally well equipment from China to rig plastic (see Black & Decker). But plastic is not only an optical / haptic disadvantage but also a disadvantage in terms of heat dissipation. The Metabo engine is perfectly stored in the metal shell. Thus, the resulting in long-term operation, heat can be dissipated ideally. It shows. After 0.5 hours of stirring (cement), the metal already pretty neat warm.
Even the accompanying change chuck is top. Finally no more awkward clamping with chuck keys. Here is a super quick chuck this, similar to a cordless screwdriver. Also this full of metal. The feed intake is optimally stored and sealed. A thick film machine grease provides the necessary lubrication.
The little plastic that has the machine is top quality and very thick. Nothing creaks or twists. It was different with the Black & Decker. In direct comparison to the blue Bosch models Nowadays this equipment does not need to hide. She feels through the metal casing and the nice weight even a ticking valent to. All beautifully packaged in an equally valued case, even this analogy with the blue Bosch models (professional series).
Ganz toll, the Verdrillschutz of the cable at the end of the machine. So a detail has always been missing. When Black & Decker, I had two broken cables precisely for this reason. At the construction site is namely exactly where the greatest stress on cable.
Function / work:
Perfect whether drilling with or without impact. Chiselling in concrete or sensitive screws. No problem. I am particularly delighted the control electronics of the motor. Even as a replacement for the often empty cordless screwdriver is good for the engine. Just a bit holder clamp, Kreuzbit in and off you go. So much emotion I had never with a drill. Reinforced concrete makes for good drill and SDS-Plus chuck no problems. The machine is like butter and with very little noise through the material. This is due to high-quality percussion, which delivers finely timed fast beats.
Conclusion:
A class unit again tool from Metabo which one "Made in Germany" simply observes. I think this is my new favorite brand, the time is simply too good to them verdaddeln with bad Werzeug. As the slogan says "Work..don't play". Toy is truly the machine really is not, here hats the developer meant seriously. In terms of utility, I see this as I said at the top level in the semi-professional segment. So somewhere between blue Bosch and Hilti! The great, the price reveals that not, this is in fact really cheap.
Side effect: Our neighbor constantly borrows from my machine. He, too, is enthusiastic about the thing! ;-) So for this Metabo device a strong buy recommendation from my side.
