ROCK IS DEAD?

ROCK IS DEAD?

Black And White America - Limited Edition (Includes DVD) (CD)

Customer Review

More and more soft, the father Lenny, yet rocker at heart, he seems to find his black roots from 2 albums and do not hide it, which is also quite commendable. However, his approach, if not bad tended towards the "Shaft" with Love Revolution, remained quite punchy, and this new opus, eyeing downright towards the funk / soul crossed with disco, but seems to have forgotten the rock in passing. Rather varied across well (too) garni of 16 tracks, the whole remains so soft, I repeat, that is not bad in itself (a single phase, maybe?), But it that bothers me is the lack of real verve sometimes syrupy benefit pieces that do no honor to this great artist talent and the undeniable inspiration.

If it remains open-minded, some songs stand out from the lot (the original Liquid Jesus, among others), but nothing is really student lot, no huge hit real power, unifying and marking, as usually did before.

I am generally disappointed with this new album, whose libretto, by evocative photos, deliver a clue to the somewhat jaded next to Lenny.

The DVD certainly well stocked too, is a supplement of choice for those who love the album, but is unattractive due to the nature of the securities if you have not hooked to this Black & White America a bit bland for my taste.
